  • SmartJobBoard Gets More Customizable
By on February 25, 2018 | Comments Off on SmartJobBoard Gets More Customizable Comments

    Smart Job Board has long had a page builder for their homepage layout, where you can easily manage content. Now it is available for Pricing and custom pages in their latest update. Here’s what the email notification says;

This new addition will not only ease up DIY designing but will also allow you to:

-Create different landing pages, for example when you want to have a separate landing page for your Employers and Candidates

-Add Text, Job Alert form, Job list, and much more to whatever page you like, with just a few clicks.

-Make your Pricing page more informative, by adding nice content above or below product boxes.

I applaud the move. Being able to customize any page on the site makes their platform more user friendly. By giving more control to site owners, Smart now has the most customizable hosted software product on the market.

  • Job Board Software Pricing Update (hosted versions)
By on February 20, 2018 | Comments Off on Job Board Software Pricing Update (hosted versions) Comments

A reader alerted me that Smart Job Board upped their prices a bit so I thought I would do a quick recap of the top “off the shelf” software products. These products are all hosted in the cloud and are self-configurable. I recommend them for beginners who want to get started quickly.

These are the least expensive way to get your job board off the ground. To put it another way, ‘job boards in a box‘.

    1. Smart Job Board: It used to be $50 but even at $79/mo their basic package is still a great value. [link]

    2. Jobboard.io basic package stands at $249 which is a high point in their history from what I remember. [link] i think their checkout process is a little smoother than Smart’s if you are looking for differences. They also don’t have the total job restrictions that comes with Smart (active job listings). [link]

    3. JobMount‘s basic price point stands at $295 which has been steady for a while. With them you get a free 6 month job spidering (scraping) and the ability to take your code with you to put on your own server. [link]

    4. JobboardHQ is $295/mo. Link.

    CasinoCareers Goes Mobile | Link

Casino Careers will showcase its redesigned Job Board, dubbed by Google as “mobile friendly and easy to use on mobile devices” at the 2017 Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas.

“According to Jibe, 86% of jobseekers who have a smartphone would use it to search for a job,” said Beth Deighan, president of Casino Careers. “However, most of our candidates find it much easier to complete the application process with a computer,” continued Deighan. “And that is why we completely redesigned our Job Seeker Resume Dashboard.”

The new dashboard enables candidates to easily personalize, update or upload a resume, create/modify their job search profiles to receive custom job alerts about new opportunities, and keep track of the last 100 positions to which they have applied.

Job openings posted on CasinoCareers.com which require gaming industry experience highlight that requirement in the header, making it easier for applicants to identify positions seeking such expertise.

  • Smart Job Board introduces Recurring Billing
    By on November 28, 2016 | 2 Comments2 Comments Comments

Smart Job Board is the first platform provider, to my knowledge, that now offers recurring billing options for employers. They made the announcement on their blog last week.

    pricingsjb

Recurring revenue is great for job boards (or any internet business). Helps to maintain steady income so think about ways to integrate it into your product mix. Also save you time from having to collect or sell to customers. You can choose to bill your customers on a monthly or yearly basis.

There is one more type of revenue model that might make sense for software vendors to add. A membership based model where you charge job seekers and make postings for employers free. Would only make sense to use in certain industries but might be a good source of revenue for platform providers. For now you could try using membership software like Memberium.

  • Q&A with Smart Job Board
By on June 14, 2016 | Comments Off on Q&A with Smart Job Board Comments

    smartjobboard

I asked Rodion Telpizov the developer of Smart Job Board a few questions over email. The company is based overseas in Kyrgyzstan. They have a new version out with new pricing.

    1. What is the history of SJB? When did you start the company and why?
I launched Smartjobboard back in 2008. At that time, I was a co-founder of the software development company that provided solutions for automobile and real estate classifieds websites. We were doing well, but I kept looking for other less competitive markets. After long hours of research and analysis, I noticed that job board market had a greater opportunity and a bigger demand for a flexible and easy-to-use software solution. So, hired a couple of developers and in a few months the first version of Smartjobboard was successfully launched. I quickly realized that we were in a right direction, as many customers were choosing our solution and were happy with it. Since that time, we have significantly improved our platform based on customer feedback. And we are still working really hard to make it the best job board software on the planet!
    2. How many sites currently use SJB as their platform?
    More than 2000.
    3. Describe your new pricing structure?
It’s pretty simple. The software is provided in two options:
    • Host in the could – in this case we setup and host everything ourselves on our servers. We take care of all the technical part, like updates, backups and etc.
    • Host on your server – some people prefer to have a full control over their website. So this option is for them. You’ll need to install and maintain everything on your own server in this case.

With host in the cloud option there are 3 pricing plans:

    • Start up ($49 per month) – allows you to have up 1000 active listings (jobs and resumes) on your site
    • Advanced ($119 per month) – allows you to have up to 10.000 active listings
    • Unlimited ($219 per month) – unlimited active listings

And for “Host on your server” option there is a one time fee of $749

There are also a bunch of add-ons you can purchase additionally.
More info about pricing could be found on our website:
    https://www.smartjobboard.com/pricing/

    4. What new features are in version five?

    • Better Speed And Performance – By removing some bloated functions, the software is now much more robust and works faster.
    • Awesome Responsive Templates – We’ve hired a dedicated design agency to develop clear and beautiful templates that look awesome on any device.
    • Enhanced SEO – We’ve optimized the URLs, titles and meta-descriptions of the main job board pages: job search, job category, and job posting pages.
    • Design Customization – You can now easily customize your job board without any coding.
    • Google Maps API Integration – Automatically determines job posting coordinates for accurate radius search.

    5. Why should job board owners consider using SJB?

    1. It’s easy to use, set-up and customize. You can easily modify it design to your brand without any coding hassles.
    2. It’s responsive and mobile friendly. So you don’t have to worry about losing your mobile users.
    3. It provides add-ons that no one else provides: Facebook app (posts your jobs on Facebook tab on your FB page), iPhone/Android apps, Jobg8 integration
