Every new job board must get links back to their site. You want to get as many links as possible from RELATED sites about jobs, recruiting or careers. Avoid links from any site that is not related. Google wont like that.
Recently I paid for some links. I approached two job related bloggers I knew from twitter and asked them if they would link to me for $150 per link. It worked! And my google ranking increased the following week. (if you want the names of those blogs email me privately)
Press releases are also a great way to get backlinks. I use eReleases.com for all my PR. Simply writing a press release will get you backlinks. Its that easy. Just write a release that has some kind of interesting content. The more interesting it is the more backlinks you will get. Here’s a release I did that got picked up by major news outlets.
Another good source for links are the college and university career centers. I have had success by contacting the director of career services and asking if they would link to my job board on their career resources page. Similarly, local libraries are also another great source for link building. Most library websites have a career section that you can typically get on if you ask. Just find the email of the webmaster or someone else and ask if they will link.
