If you want to know where the job board market is headed look no further than these 3 sites. To me they are where things are going. Meaning a more VISUAL job experience including behind the scenes looks at companies. These 3 sites are leading with pictures not job listings. The job listings are just an offshoot of the main goal which to highlight the company, not the job. It’s all about employer branding.
1. THE MUSE: this is a site that gets a million visitors per month and they are a content machine pumping out 40 high quality articles each week. In addition they have a very visual job search site. They actually send in videographers and photographers to capture company images so job seekers can get a glimpse at life there. Visit The Muse.
2. STACKOVERFLOW CAREERS: they have these awesome company pages just like The Muse. Upon clicking a company page you get a big visual image of their offices with a “Why Work Here” message. Pretty cool. Visit Stack.
3. FIRMPLAY: this Boston based startup is very similar to the above two sites. According to Crunchbase: “FirmPlay is job search done differently. Gone are the days when job seekers apply to jobs without knowing what it’s actually like to work there. FirmPlay is an online platform where companies showcase their company culture through videos, photos and other interactive media. The mission is to not only help both companies and job seekers find a fit, but the right fit.” Visit Firmplay.
